In a desperate attempt to keep the magic of the sundrop flower from the hands of the guards searching for it, gothel imbued her own daughter with the flowers magic as she wasn’t certain she could move the flower without harming it. Followed -- her cottage found, she moved her four year old daughter to a hidden tower in hopes to keep her away from the world && keep her magic to herself. She continues her treatment of her, making her clean && cook even when she’s around, leaving for stretches of time cassandra isn’t to question && making her work hard for any scraps of her affection while she tells her that the world is cruel && will only seek to hurt her or use her for her magic or try to kill her for it if she ever steps out of the tower.
This verse is a role swap that follows the events of the tangled film && then the series, just with cassandra in the role of the sundrop.

she threw herself into her studies && into becoming the best princess she could for her parents, to try to fill their void while attempting to work hard enough to gain their affection enough -- despite her love of weaponry && fencing. she's become known around the kingdoms as an unconventional princess -- beautiful && graceful but fierce on the battle field with a cutting edge of a sharp personality that matches the swords she so loves. she never made friends, putting herself into her duties && studies instead -- the only friend she had was her owl -- but even if she tried no one was ever permitted around her often. her parents were too afraid to lose her as well just as they'd lost their previous daughter. && even despite that, she had a tendency to push people away before they could hurt her or reject her or before they were taken away from her because they were deemed ill fitting or too dangerous.
she was twenty two when the news broke that the princess has been found && she was happy at first, happy that her parents would find their happiness again, happy that she'd finally come home. but it turned into resentment quickly as she was shoved to the side as their real daughter was now home && despite being much older, she wasn't the blood princess so she became the spare in spite of all the training && hard work she'd put in. now she's delegated to helping the returned princess get accustomed to the world && her new life, as well as teaching her all she knows about being a princess.

she is every bit as ruthless as people believe though she has something of a hidden bleeding heart where certain things are concerned ( such as animals, orphans, the outcast && those in need ). she ends up taking people in who are outcast && need a place to fit in, where they can be themselves && not have to live under the thumb of others

she was abandoned young && raised in a terrible orphanage that didn’t care for the kids unfortunate enough to be dumped there – though she always looked out for the younger kids there, stealing food && toys && better clothes for them when she’s out && teaching them how to fend for themselves when they need it, should anything happen to her. the orphanage had had enough of her && she was kicked out, taking refuge with a group of pirates she’d stumbled upon in her teen years when she’d attempted to steal from them – caught but not killed, instead taken in && raised && taught what she knows now.

Eventually she took over once the old captain had been slain – life goes on but not forgotten – && she built up her crew with old && new faces && amassed a frightening reputation in her wake. though she runs a tight ship, she adores her crew like the family she’d never had – she’s firm with them && will always punish betrayal without blinking but as long as you follow her && stay loyal, she’s a very caring captain who has her crew’s back, just as her crew has hers.

rescued from her home planet after watching her parents' death, the young mandalorian girl was given a home with her now father, taken care of && trained to defend herself. the only thing she has to remember her parents by is her birth father's helmet which she'd held onto dearly. she grew to hold a love of weaponry && trained in as many forms as she could -- extremely adept at combat from a young age with an intelligence to match && a strong intuition she never knew was anything more than a strong gut feeling.
it was when she was a teenager that her father noticed the first signs -- unaware of how to handle the situation && knowing that those with force sensitivity were hunted down, she was taught to suppress it all down to the point she never knew the gift she had. growing older, their planet was attacked, the empire going after their planet's royals for not giving in but the danger && emotions of the attack, of her father's life nearly being taken caused her powers to burst forth, pushing the attackers back && saving her father but it also outed herself much to her father's fear. && at 18 she was sent away for her own protection -- taking in her birth parents' footsteps && becoming a bounty hunter to survive, keeping herself on the move for years && years now, gaining a reputation but keeping her force sensitivity a secret && continuing to suppress it.
she'd always known she was meant for more than cleaning && fixing things, that her capabilities were meant for glory && she could make a difference -- but she'd always been held back more than she'd ever known, though her father kept her from the fight so she'd remain suppressing her emotions && force sensitivity. she doesn't want to be a jedi && has mixed views of them due to her mandalorian heritage -- doesn't really know where to begin now but she feels resentment for being held back so much. now she just wants to keep on the move && it's made her distant && cold to people she isn't familiar with. she leads a lonely, solitary life but it's fine by her, because she'd never grown to have friends while growing either -- to her, she isn't missing out, she has her duties, she earns her keep && she survives. though she has her own code she sticks to -- searching to rekindle the culture she was taken from && figure out what her destiny is now.

cassandra has a droid she had rescued from scrappers when she was very young -- she saw potential in it && learned how to program && repair it so she could keep it as her only friend growing up. he's extremely loyal to her but he does tend to call her out on her lying or attempts to hide the truth of her feelings. they have a strong bond && can communicate very easily -- he's the only one now that knows she's force sensitive && helps her pilot, fight && with missions. she always has him with her unless he's on her ship.

eventually, along with her astromech && convor, owl ( one whom she'd found in a market when she was young && rescued him under the pretence that he was useful && it was not at all an attachment ), she leaves the order && hides herself beneath mandalorian armour to hide her identity && becomes a bounty hunter.

a terrifying && skilled foe, she follows her orders in fear of the looming inevitability of her own death in exchange for failure, using the anger she held against the order && its rules && her master’s death with not vengeance on her part to grow stronger. with a new robotic arm && her red, spinning double lightsaber, she’s a force to be reckoned with. though her mind isn’t entirely in tact && perhaps she can be snapped out of it && brought back to the light.

abandoned outside the wall by an awful woman adept at magic who she’s repressed most memories of in her adulthood, she was adopted at a young age by one of the crownsguard, a close friend of the king && gladio's father. she grew up around the palace && wanting to become like him but wanting to join the glaive instead when she was old enough. trained all her life for it since she was six && despite her father's wishes for her to not become a glaive, she went behind his back the second she was able to && joined the glaive as young as she could. she's highly skilled && has an excellent grasp on magic -- she takes her job && training extremely seriously && over the years rose through the ranks she could slowly as she had to work extra hard to prove herself. she's efficient with ALL weapon types && has a large collection in her home as if it were a personal armoury -- she often defaults to dual short swords in battle && is a very resourceful, deadly && skilled fighter. she picks up magic easily && excels most at warp striking && fire magic but can use others as well those're just her usual go tos && strengths. being a refugee but adopted by the captain of a crownsguard squadron, she doesn't exactly fit in with the glaive, nor the other insomnians despite growing up there; she's dealt with bullying && prejudice all her life && has to continuously prove herself over && over to everyone, even when she joins the glaive as she isn’t accepted by them immediately due to her father’s station && where she grew up.

she got her arm charred irreparably by use of her fire magic during her earlier years as a glaive -- she has very intense burns across the entirety of her hand up to near her elbow && she’s extremely self conscious about it -- going so far as to constantly wear a long glove to cover it up no matter what she’s wearing.

She has a very big distaste for the entire concept of the isle -- she believes the villains, especially gothel -- should have stayed dead && their children on the isle don’t deserve to grow up the way they do or be treated like they’re their parents. She feels strongly about it && won’t judge vks because she’s be a hypocrite, her birth mother is a villain && once upon a time so was she.

( though the father is someone she met on her journeys post series -- a genderfluid man she fell in love with but he ended up dying when she was pregnant -- she returned to corona after his death && doesn't like talking about it due to her intense grief && loss ) Also she has a motorcycle because.

SUMMARY OF VERSE TBA. she works as a security guard at sfit, wanting to prove to her father, a high ranking police officer, that she can become an officer. there's an accident when she && her father go to investigate a routine call, instead finding a villain's lair && science experiments on an old artefact, she touches it, causes an explosion that puts her father into a coma && embeds the artefact into her chest, giving her powers much like her moonstone powers. she then uses her powers for revenge, vowing that she'll stop villains before they can hurt anyone again like they did to her && her father -- she's an anti hero but has the capacity to fall deeper into her rage && want for revenge as she searches for the person who did this to her family.

born in ravka, half shu, abandoned && orphaned at a very young age, assumed to just be another unfortunate outcome of the border wars, cassandra was taken in to an orphanage, watched over often by a gruff, noble soldier who visited when he wasn’t in service. they’d grown an attachment as a father && daughter over time, subtle but he had wanted to adopt her when he could. though the time would never come as she begun to exhibit grisha abilities && she was to be tested as others were her age.
though news of this got around to her birth mother, a bitter old woman who wanted to use her to gain riches — so she showed up, playing the role of a grieving mother finally reunited with her long lost daughter that was torn from her side. unfortunately the display fooled everyone, even young cassandra who had craved her mother’s affection && had wondered what had happened to her birth parents.
that happiness didn’t last long, as one night she’d overheard her mother talking with someone about an arrangement to sell her to the highest bidder && cassandra fled from her mother’s side, going back to the only place she’d known, the orphanage && her stand in father. hearing of what happened, he rescued her, getting her to take the test && be taken away to be trained before her mother could come to steal her again, severing the possibility of them ever getting to be a true family && never getting to adopt her in exchange for her safety && a chance for her to train && learn && be something greater as she’d always wanted to be.
she trains hard as she grows && becomes a good soldier, good at following orders, good at doing what has to be done. but she has a lingering insecurity that she’ll never be quite good enough && that keeps her pushing herself further && keeps her feeling like she wants something greater though she knows she’s doing what she can to help her people && keep everyone safe. she can be distant && cold at first && is no nonsense — often coming off as a scary person or more aggressive than she needs to be — but deep down && once you get beyond the walls she’s built up, she’s soft && caring && has a good heart full of a want for justice, helping others, but a want for grander things && for her tastes of glory as well as insecurities she keeps hidden beneath her walls of iron. she cares for other grisha, as they are her people && she finally feels like she belongs somewhere && stands up for them. though she isn’t a fan of bullying && won’t take it lightly, regardless of who the bully is.

cassandra is rapunzel's lady in waiting who believed she was destined to be a guard. she's waiting for her moment of glory instead of just being cast aside for others to steal that glory. she was hurt in an accident on their journey to the dark kingdom once they left corona -- her right hand was burned && charred by the moonstone's incantation recited by rapunzel && in response to rapunzel not trusting that cassandra could handle the situation so she didn't have to use the spell.
she feels hurt by the situation both physically && mentally, holding anger inside herself over it.

will she get over it or could the resentment building in her heart be used against her? could she turn to the darkness?

there are several available routes for this verse depending who she's interacting with. she can be good or she can be convinced && have her insecurities used against her to turn her against her friends && fall to darkness

when she was young she sought to be more than she was allowed to be -- her parents were killed in an omnic attack when she was four && she was picked up by her policeman father in the aftermath, saved && given a home where she was taught to defend herself, taught to earn her keep, taught to wield a variety of weapons that she grew to collect && adore.
she'd always wanted to be given the chance to do something great -- a glory she strove for but she was never given the affection or recognition she'd always craved. a final straw was placed -- the last time she'd wanted to prove herself to her father so he'd let her follow in his footsteps && make him proud but again he turned her down, stating how she wasn't ready. so she took her fate into her own hands, wanting to prove she could do something great && help people like she'd always wanted, she joined overwatch when she turned 20 && stayed until the fall. she had her own views of what happened -- her own bitter opinions but she keeps them to herself outside of bursts of annoyance or blunt opinionated outbursts.
since the fall, she took up travelling the world as a bounty hunter -- not wanting to go back home && prove she'd failed in the end, that her decisions weren't what she should have gone through with && that she should have stayed home, learnt her place && kept it. she travels to the next bounty she chases down -- keeping the world safe one bounty at a time -- && had made a name for herself. though with the recall put out into the world, she thinks maybe, just maybe it might be worth her time to try again.

she’s very competitive && proud – she takes quidditch pretty seriously but it’s also something she greatly enjoys. she does what she has to to win with honour. she’s somewhat of a sore loser.

through school, she dreams of becoming an auror && despite enjoying sports more than academics, she works her hardest to obtain the skills && requirements && very high marks to become one – after graduation she’s admitted into training then moves on to become a powerful auror

she makes captain of gryffindor’s quidditch team in her fifth or sixth year. is chosen as prefect in her fifth year && continues both positions for her sixth && seventh years. she knew she wanted to be an auror like her father but sixth year seals it && she talks to the head of house to set up the classes she needs for her future career as well as taking the apparition class to get her license.

Fairy Tale Parent/Story: Gothel, Rapunzel’s Witch

Story: Cassandra graduated from Ever After a few years ahead of the current student body, but she’s always known HOLLY and POPPY O’Hair, Rapunzel’s twin daughters, seeing as their Fairy Tale Destinies are tied–or, well, Cassandra’s and Holly’s are tied. Poppy, as the younger daughter, does not inherit Rapunzel’s story and thus has the opportunity to choose her own.
Cassandra always felt jealous of Poppy for being able to choose what she wanted to do. Cass didn’t want to trap Holly in a tower, and she didn’t want to be trapped up in a tower herself at the end of the story… she wanted to be able to choose her own destiny.
After learning about Raven Queen, daughter of Snow White’s Evil Queen, and how she chose to pursue her own destiny, Cassandra finally came to the conclusion that she should be able to do the same–even though she’d already signed the Storybook of Legends, locking in her destiny as the next witch. Her mother fought against Cassandra’s decision, but Cass wouldn’t let herself be held back by what others wanted for her anymore–she was going to choose her own path.
She told Holly and Poppy in a Mirror Phone video chat… and the twins were both so incredibly supportive. Holly did seem to have some slight anxiety over what this might mean for her, but in the end, the three of them ended the conversation on a high note–they made plans to meet at the tea shop the next day, the first time they would have spent fun, social time together in years.

she appears normal to most -- short black hair, fair skin, a bandaged right arm. just a pretty woman who holds no difference from other humans like her. though to those who sense magic or for those times she reveals it herself -- her hair glows blue && the right arm once severed in battle but regained with magic glows with it; eyes a brilliant yet piercing blue filled with anger && sadness at what she's become && at those who led her down this path. the opal embedded in her chest is her source && it shines brilliantly, bringing only corruption or death to those who dare to touch it.she still holds a similar personality to her canon, though she's less inclined to see the good in things &&

Generally her only companions are her horse, fidella, && her owl named owl. She’s a skilled combatant && a very excellent hunter
